DV Lottery Family Photos: Spouse and Children Rules
A DV entry requires photos of your spouse and all unmarried children under 21 — even if they live elsewhere or will not immigrate with you.
Critical rules
- Every family member's photo follows the same technical rules: 600x600, head 50–69%, eyes 56–69%, white background, last 6 months.
- One non-compliant photo invalidates the entire entry.
- Babies: eyes open, mouth closed; no supporting hand or car-seat straps visible. Laying the baby on a white sheet and shooting from above is an accepted method.
- Shoot digitally instead of scanning prints; scans produce moiré and reflections.
Practical workflow
Take a separate photo of each family member, validate each one individually, and name the files clearly (e.g. name_dv.jpg) to avoid mixing them up in the entry form. Our tool's family member feature stores each result with its own label — on your device only.
