US ID Photo Compliance

DV Green Pass formats U.S. document photos to the technical specification published by the U.S. Department of State and USCIS.

What we check for US documents

• Dimensions: 600×600 px (2×2 inches), JPEG, sRGB, ≤240 KB.
• Head size: 50–69% of image height (chin to crown).
• Eye level: 56–69% up from the bottom.
• Background: plain white / off-white, no shadows.
• Expression & accessories: neutral, eyes open, no glasses (banned since Nov 2016).

These values are taken from the public requirements at travel.state.gov. Applies to DV Green Card entries, US passports and US visas (DS-160).
